Inst. Caxixi

Founder & Head Teacher

Instructor Caxixi from Venezuela, with over 2 decades in Capoeira as a student, over 1 decade teaching experience and receiving his instructor title in 2013, he strives to help in the creation of a positive, safe and none judgmental environment in which students are challenge and inspired to reach, train and help each others to achieve new skills, as a family, so they can explore the potential that each of them could have. He is focused on the contribution to the health of our communities through the art of Capoeira and healthy habits as a living example, increase social interaction and making the difference in people’s life.

Instructor Caxixi has been teaching and hosting Capoeira Workshop in the Indy area partnering up with Yoga studios, Dance studios, Gyms, Indianapolis public and private schools throughout Indiana, to bring more awareness of Capoeira: “Is it my obligation as Capoeira educator to provide this beautiful Afro-Brazilian Martial art knowledge to our Indiana communities, while we are having fun and sharing this energy so everyone can go home with a smile on there faces” Instructor Caxixi said.

One of his lates workshop at the Business Campus in the Butler University with over 200 participants and Indianapolis Public School #84 with over 200 kids between the ages of 8 and 16 years old.

Instructor Caxixi also has participate over 1,000’s of Capoeira demonstrations and Brazilian cultural performances in front of countess audiences in many states in Venezuela, Brazil and USA, among those cultural performances are: Maculele, Samba de Roda, Puxada de Rede, Jongo and Capoeira.

Some of the places where Instructor Caxixi taught before are: Altitude, Boys & Girls Club Noblesville, Body Mind & Core, University High School in Carmel, Stage1 Dance Academy, Indianapolis Public School #84, Butler University, and many more.

Throughout the years, Caxixi, our Capoeira leader in Indianapolis, has attended multiple events in different countries such as Venezuela, Brazil and several states in the United States (Oregon, Washington St, California, Nevada, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, North Carolina)

Today, Caxixi teaches Kids and Adult classes in Broad Ripple, Indianapolis. Capoeira Brasil Indianapolis is continually growing and is dedicated to the unique, creative, and free-flowing art that is Capoeira.

Caxixi strives to help in the creation of a positive environment with Capoeira, in which students are challenge and inspired to reach, train and help others to achieve new skills together so they can explore the potential that each of them could have. Relâmpago

Assistant Instructor, Adult Classes

Cecily Stilley - also known as Relâmpago in the Capoeira community. She started in Capoeira in 2017, and after a small break she restated her Capoeira journey under Inst. Caxixi in 2019 who she attributes all of her real growth to, also traveling around the USA to expand her knowledge and experience within the Capoeira community. Relâmpago loves teaching the basics because truly believes that having a true foundation will help to build up your skills and confidence within yourself. “If you can do the basics, you can do anything!” Relâmpago also love working on back bends and has a lot of fun doing them, because they are cool, and she strongly believes that they are totally doable.

Monitora Tempestade

Co-Founder & Second Teacher

Monitora Tempestade was introduced to Capoeira in 2013 and has not looked back since. She has travel around the USA in search of knowledge. Since 2013 she has be in countless Capoeira demonstrations, workshops and seminars with Inst. Caxixi. During her journey she has learn how to teach the art of Capoeira to children and adults under the guidance of Inst. Caxixi.

Thanks to her determination and perseverance, she received the Monitora level and title in 2022 from the hands of a well know in the Capoeira community Master, Mestre Mindinho.

Today she teaches directly our adult beginner classes, developing and encouraging the new generation of Capoeira practitioners. Becoming the second Capoeira teacher in Indianapolis.

More about Monitora Tempestade:

Certified Personal Trainer since 2012, she has experience in training all ages, all activity levels, and providing a fun and safe environment for all that take her classes.

Living her whole life in the fitness industry, Tempestade has had a passion for movement and strength from a very young age. She Tempestade has participated in multiple demonstrations in the Indianapolis area and has traveled all across the USA to further her knowledge in Capoeira and it’s History. She currently teaches Beginners Classes in Broad Ripple. Colorida

Assistant Instructor, Adult + Kids

Audrey Woika - also known in the Capoeira community as “Colorida”. Started Capoeira in December 19, 2019. She fell in love with Capoeira since her first Open House Community Class, and travel around the USA to expand and explore knowledge within the Capoeira community. Audrey enjoys watching the kids learn how to move in new ways and learn skills that will help them in capoeira or any other physical activity. Accomplishing their own milestones helps build their self confidence that will help them in all aspects of life. Audrey believes that capoeira helps kids learn how to interact with people of all ages and helps their creativity grow. She is excited to help build the next generation of capoeiristas along with Inst. Caxixi and Monitora Tempestade here in Indianapolis.
